Dear MacJournal,
I have finally finished configuring my new Mac mini. I'm updating on it now.
It initially came with Panther running on it (boo!) and then I had to upgrade it to Tiger. That's OK though, because they provided me with a Tiger installation DVD.. so it was easy. The only downside was that I didn't get the cool Tiger "welcome" video. Oh well. I've seen enough of them at work. :)
The only frustrating things about this computer that I'll have to remedy soon include:
-only 1024x768 resolution output at greater than 60Hz refresh rate. 60Hz really hurts. My eyes. So, alas.. I am stuck with 1024x768 on this old CRT that I'm really interested in getting rid of soon anyway..
-only 256MB RAM, and 32MB dedicated VRAM.. I'm definitely buying a gig of RAM soon for this baby.. but the VRAM is what it is.. oh well.
-no KVM switch yet.. so one machine has to be deprived of keyboard, video and mouse. this will also be remedied soon.
Positives of this machine include:
-only 6.5"x6.5"x2". It's a tiny little box.
-80GB hard drive
-slot-loading CD-burning, DVD-playing drive
-really quiet
-MAC!
I'm going to finish updates on this thing and get to bed. Au revoir!
Love, Bo
satisfied
